Most of these end up as smart phones with apps and Internet connectivity:
- More than 50% of kids have their own tablet by kindergarten. (Could be 58%)
- More than 25% have their own cell phone by age 8.
- 69% will have their own cell phone sometime during age 12. There is a large increase in cell phone acquisition for kids around age 12-14. This increase could be do to more kids involved in after school or private sports, and the convenience of letting parents know when to expect to pick them up.
- More than 90% of teens (13-17) have their own phone or have access to a phone
