This is both due to changing values – younger people have more lifestyle creep than older people. Older people are less likely to be in the workforce and more likely to be at home, so cook at home. Younger people could bring lunches from home, as older generations did, but the data says that is much less common today – more workers eat out or at company cafeterias for lunch, and seldom bring a lunch from home.
