Salem-Keizer School District begins discussion that could close up to eight schools
Their schools average 538 students per school. Now down 5000 students since their peak, they’ve got about 9 too many schools.
As a comment notes, their average class size is now just 20 students (compare that to 30-32 when some of us were in school). 5000 students is 250 classrooms at 20 students each.
