Nearly one-third of gym-goers say they have not returned to their workout facility.

For those that haven’t returned, 27 percent said they don’t have plans to go back, according to a new survey from UpSwell Marketing. That begs the question, is it the pandemic or the work that is keeping them away?

My last day at the gym was Feb 28, 2020. Seeing the upcoming Covid threat, I did not renew my membership starting March 1st.

Three weeks later, our public health shut down the state and put us under lock down for several months.

The facility re-opened briefly, later in the year, but was eventually closed. In the past month, the building was demolished to make way for a new roadway bypass.

I switched to exercises at home, but they have never been as good as what I did in the gym, plus I lost my main source of social contact.

The effect is my health is not as good as it was in February 2020, which does not reflect well on public health.
