From the 1976 book “Medical Nemesis: The Expropriation of Health”, by Ivan Illich. He spoke numerous languages, traveled extensively and taught at Penn State, University of Bremen and University of Hagen. In addition to his doctorate in medieval history, he was also a Roman Catholic priest.
