• They took 10 months to do this.
  • Parts of the trip were accompanied by gas fueled support vehicles and a diesel generator.
  • To bypass the Darien Gap, they put the vehicle on a 14-day trip via cargo ship
  • Their EV was transported by ship from South America to Antartica
  • They had a visible and invisible support system for food for 10 months (10 months of food production produces a lot of carbon).
  • Their support team was transported using fossil fuels.
  • When finished, they were flown out of Antartica.
  • This expedition was done by a “sustainable living advocate”, who has spent years driving through much of the world, solely for the purpose of driving around the world and creating “engaging social media content and videos”.
  • He once spent 56 days driving 10,000 miles through 20 countries (England to Siberia) to prove that electrical vehicles can drive somewhere. They’ve done these stunts in Europe, Asia, North and South America and more.
  • As long as you say your trip is to educate people about climate or EVs, and you promote yourself on social media, anything, even flying by private jet, is okay! It’s Science!
  • What was the point of this stunt? Publicity: “Chris is an enthusiastic public speaker and presenter and Fifth Gear, ITV, Formula E, Audi, GreenFleet, Nissan and the BBC are just a few of the clients he has worked with.”
  • They averaged 59 miles per day by EV and support team: THE PONY EXPRESS ACROSS THE AMERICAN WEST IN THE 19TH CENTURY AVERAGED 250 MILES PER DAY.

What did this ridiculous stunt demonstrate?

In spite of his massive and hidden fossil fueled support network, the Pony Express was more than 4x faster.

Chris Ramsey is a climate hypocrite who has turned climate change into a personal travel business. He is a clown and a huckster – and the media nitwits fell for this stunt, with few of them mentioning the fossil fueled support network.

Reminder – Our home is solar PV powered; we strive for efficiency and use 1/2 to 1/3 the electricity of our neighbors who have 2 to 3x larger solar PV installations. We drive an EV. We upped the insulation of our home, and compost nearly everything on site. More in the link at upper right of this page. We don’t do silly stunts.
