My late father-in-law was an electrical engineer working for a national laboratory. They were building co-generation systems back in the 1970s, re-using excess heat used for one application and applying that to a 2nd function. Now, 50 years later, what is now old is new again. Wild. He was also involved in the construction of one of the first, very large scale solar PV grid-scale power plants. Almost 3 decades later I bought, used, several solar PV panels that turned out to be from that original experimental solar PV system!
