A new report reveals that in 2022, 47.4% of all internet traffic came from bots, a 5.1% increase over the previous year.

Until I took measures to thwart the bots, I estimate 75+% of all interactions with my websites were bots. Some bots are search engines, and well behaved search engines gently index web sites. Other bots are web scrapers that hammer the web sites stealing content to use elsewhere. And finally, some bots are potentially AI machine learning systems, scooping up content to train large language models.
Then there are the comment spam bots too.
