OpenAI is accused of some serious intellectual property theft via former Apple employees.

This is not how you, as an employee, deal with IP issues.

In the early 1990s, I wrote some books about programming in Borland’s Turbo Pascal and Borland’s C++, which was a great software development product. In 1993, I accepted a job offer at Microsoft – and at the same time, Borland sent to me their next version of their C++ development system. I did not open it and sent it back to Borland. Because that is what ethical people do.

A few of my new Microsoft colleagues ribbed me for that – but admitted they would have also returned the product to Borland.
