Amazon blames the FAA but the reality is the technology has not yet proven itself as effective and safe.

Source: Amazon Prime Air drone business stymied by regulations, weak demand

Wing and some other drone companies imply they are further along and will be delivering packages all over the place within a year. I suspect they might be delivering some packages in some places some of the time.

But the problems are very tough to solve – not everyone home has a place for deliveries, obstacles and wind and weather pose significant challenges, and the day a drone injures someone on the ground, things will become very ugly, quickly

I’d be happy if Amazon would bring back “Prime Two-Day delivery” – since our Prime deliveries now regularly take a week or more. Last week we had a package ship from Texas, then go to Pendleton, OR, then Portland, then route around multiple Portland distribution centers, then back to Pendleton, then to Boise, then back to Pendleton, back to Portland, then to Bend, OR and then eventually to our town. Something is fishy with that!
