Microsoft is pitching the Copilot features as being more powerful than simply being “OpenAI’s ChatGPT embedded into Microsoft 365,” the company said in an announcement. The company said that the new Copilot in Word feature will give people a “first draft to edit and iterate on—saving hours in writing, sourcing, and editing time.”

There’s an entire industry of “reporters”, usually but not always based overseas, who write stories based on social media posts. They generally go along the lines of “He said something to her and the Internet reacts”. The stories are stupid and unimportant but they apparently generate eyeballs for advertisers.
Now that ChatGPT can generate these “news reports”, the market for writing them mostly vanishes.
