Our overpriced ACA policy for 2023 has a deductible of $17,600. I kid you not.
The average deductible for an individual in 2022 is around $1,760, which is double what it was in 2006 when adjusted for inflation.

The ACA turned the small individual insurance market into a high risk/high cost insurance pool as it absorbed the state run “high risk” pools. The pools are less than half the size Gruber forecast it would be by now. The result was extraordinarily high prices for those not receiving subsidies.
The ACA failed to accomplish the goals laid out as part of the sales pitch in 2008-2010.
It would be nice if politicians cared to fix this. They don’t care though.
