The CDC estimates about half of the U.S. population had had Covid-19 from Feb 2020 to Sep 2021.

An OHSU model, updated monthly since summer, has consistently estimated about 60% of Oregon residents will have had Covid-19 by the end of Dec 2021 and that nearly 90% of Oregon residents will have immunity, either through vaccination or having had Covid-19 or both.
Empirically, then, our NPIs did not accomplish much when a majority of residents had the disease – in spite of – the NPIs.
This suggests epidemiology is a failed science. After 21 months of their directives, the outcome is about the same as any other pandemic.
