Redfield first said this in mid-July 2020.
Redfield said if Americans wore face masks for several weeks, “we would bring this pandemic under control,” because there is scientific evidence they work and they are our “best defense.””
I might even go so far as to say that this face mask is more guaranteed to protect me against COVID than when I take a COVID vaccine, because it may be 70%. And if I don’t get an immune response, the vaccine is not going to protect me,” Redfield said. “This face mask will.”
Several experts contacted by CBS News agree with that assessment: Since vaccines do not guarantee an immune response, masks may be more effective at preventing COVID-19.
There you have it – the Director of the CDC said in July of 2020 that if we all wore face masks, the pandemic would be over with within weeks.
By September, when the linked article was published and the CDC Director said that face masks work better than vaccines, a study was published claiming that if just 70% wore face masks, the pandemic would be over with within weeks.
Surveys found very high compliance – 90-98% in most states.
By the fall and winter, daily new cases were occurring at a rate more than 10x greater.
Not one “expert” has provided a logical, consistent and coherent explanation for the above – not one.
In fact, “experts” piled on to the CDC Director’s comments saying that “masks may be more effective at preventing COVID-19”.
Epidemiologists and public health “experts” have no credibility what so ever. Zero. None. I no longer believe a word coming from any of them.
