EVs, climate, etc, are so 2024. It’s about politics and nothing to do with climate – and it’s likely been this way since the beginning and is part of why I’ve given up on caring about climate. After spending $64,000 over 5 years to replace and upgrade our home’s insulation, install solar PV, buy an EV and make other improvements that lowered our carbon emissions to 1/10th that of the average American household. Today, I no longer care – after seeing the climate hypocrites, grifters, absurd demands on what we must do (“Ban all meat”, “Ban all travel”, “Ban all pet dogs and cats”), and 2025’s Tesla vandalism (including the suspicious rock into the windshield of our Model 3). None of this is sustainable nor supportable – and it was never about climate but about rule by a technocratic elite that sees itself as smarter and more important than everyone else, and the need to end democracy.
