We are in a new era of shrinking populations. We’ve not been here before.
We will see shrinking school and university enrollment, the closures and layoffs of many in the education sector, potential future labor shortages (automation, AI and efficiency improvements will be essential), and difficultly in making past commitments on retirement and health care for the post WW2 baby boom cohort and their baby boom echo – unless our young adults return to having kids and families.
