It’s complicated: What are the trade-offs between animal welfare and the environmental impact of meat? – Our World in Data
Eating less meat can make the lives of feed animals worse, once you think about what it all means.
Also, eating less meat will result in more people being vitamin B12 deficient, as I learned the hard way. I am now 5 1/2 months since ending accidental vegetarianism (see post at right) – and taking 1000 mcg of vitamin B12 every day (per doctor’s order). I went from 6 to 10 visual auras/scotomas every day to zero. I have not had another one since. This is a huge, huge, huge impact on my health. I now eat meat again and will not be returning to meatless eating, although now that I have recovered, I am reducing my meat consumption somewhat.
