Per this CDC chart of hospitalizations, which is a gold standard metric, we are in the 8th lowest wave so far. To claim we are in the 2nd highest wave is to make broad brush assumptions.
Other experts say wastewater data mostly tells us whether cases are going up or down – but not much beyond that for a host of reasons.
It is unclear what these “Experts” on Twitter expect us to do – everything we did in the past, given the real-world limitations, did not stop the spread of Covid. Eventually nearly everyone got it. But let’s repeat all those steps again?
