Contrary to the news headlines, it seems to be the lowest it’s been in 4 years. Hospitalizations are a high-quality metric, versus “positive tests” since few people are testing now and many states are no longer collecting the data. Also, this figure includes patients “with Covid” who were admitted for other reasons. Some states and doctors have said 60-80% of patients are “with Covid” and not in the hospital because of Covid. Seems like good news.

Am confused by the 2019-2020 line, though. Not sure what that is showing? I had Covid in June of 2022, which per the above, was a time when hospitalizations were low.
