Didn’t work the first time so let’s do it again: California county urges residents to wear masks again as COVID-19, RSV levels spike – CBS Sacramento (cbsnews.com)

“I recommend that everybody in the community take steps to protect themselves from infection, including wearing a high-quality mask when indoors around others,” said Yolo County’s Public Health Officer Dr. Aimee Sisson in a statement on Wednesday.

Thought experiment – put on a mask, enter a room with Covid virus particles about. Assuming the mask works, the outside of it is now coated with virus particles. When you take it off, do you throw it away, wash your hands and face, and then get a new, sanitized mask? Or do you do like most people, and wrap it around your chin for a while, or put it in your pocket, only to pull it out again a while later? If the latter, congratulations, you are probably going to get Covid.
