In Germany, Last Generation demands an end to all fossil fuel use by 2030 (just 6 years away) to save humanity. That would, ironically, result in the collapse of the German economy, would cause people to starve to death and die of hypothermia. How many people must we kill in order to save humanity? They don’t say.

They also demand an immediate maximum speed limit in Germany (famous for its Autobahn), of 100 kmh (62 mph).

The group’s priorities include getting Germany to stop using all fossil fuels by 2030 and take short-term measures, including imposing a general speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour (62 mph) on highways, to cut emissions more quickly.

Many (probably all) of the people promoting this live in densely populated areas where travel distances are short. They have not lived in the western U.S. where it typically takes a full day – or two – to drive across a single state, and distances between cities are large. I live in the middle of my state -the next city to my east, with just few thousand population, is 120 miles away. From my house, it is 5+ hours of driving to reach the eastern edge of the state – and then another 2 hours of driving to reach the next metro area.
