Specifically, for many reasons, the UK Health Security Agency was unable to find evidence NPIs accomplished much.
They concluded that social distancing, lock downs, masks, travel restrictions and more – had little to no effect on Covid transmission. Same thing that WHO’s 2019 report on pandemics found – and which public health experts promptly ignored.
The NPIs did, however, ruin kids’ education, put millions out of work, prevented many from seeking access to healthcare, led to anxiety and depression problems, created huge inflation, caused loss of trust in public health and most science fields, and brought forth authoritarian government censorship regimes – the NPIs worked, just not in the way that was promised or intended!
