…version 22H2 will be the end of the road for Windows 10, according to a road map update posted yesterday. Microsoft product manager Jason Leznek reiterated that Windows 10 will continue to receive security updates until the October 2025 cutoff date, but there will be no more yearly feature updates for Windows 10.

I use Windows 10 on an older hardware PC that is unable to upgrade to Windows 11. Windows 10 runs great on that system and I plan to continue using it, probably after 2025. For one, my Epson V600 scanner is fantastic for scanning negatives, transparencies and photos – but there is no Windows 11 driver for that old scanner now, so I continue to use it on my old Window 10 system. Sure, I can use VueScan on Windows 11, but it lacks some important features that the original Epson software provides for scanning negatives and slides.

I do use Windows 11 on all other computers.
