In 2006:
SunCrest developers took issue with the report and threatened to sue the city for $500 million if officials made it public. They have since dropped the threat.
In 2023:
- Newly built homes deemed unlivable
- Draper homes collapse: “The homes were built by Edge Homes, a company recently under fire for building the “unlivable” homes due to sliding soil.“
- Draper mayor says 3rd home at risk of sliding off
- Draper community helps neighboring landslide homes evacuate
The developer blames “saturated soils” – but the first two homes were evacuated in October – in a desert climate – long before above normal precipitation occurred.
