These bad think thoughts used to be called conspiracy theories – now they are mainstream Science:
* United Nations projections point to the world population peaking at roughly 10.4 billion people before 2100.
* Not all researchers agree on the population peak, with one Gates Foundation-funded study suggesting population is nearing peak now [at 8.8 billion].
The book Empty Planet also thinks the peak will come much earlier. The co-author, a former Canadian government demographer points to several trends that move the peak up sooner.
Immunity acquired from a Covid infection provides strong, lasting protection against the most severe outcomes of the illness, according to research published Thursday in The Lancet — protection, experts say, that’s on par with what’s provided through two doses of an mRNA vaccine.
Infection-acquired immunity cut the risk of hospitalization and death from a Covid reinfection by 88% for at least 10 months, the study found.
I am so old, I remember when we were told immunity from a Covid infection did not provide any protection and you needed to get all the shots – or lose your job or be kicked out of your university.
Fire is an essential Earth system process that alters ecosystem and atmospheric composition. Here we assessed long-term fire trends using multiple satellite data sets. We found that global burned area declined by 24.3 ± 8.8% over the past 18 years. The estimated decrease in burned area remained robust after adjusting for precipitation variability and was largest in savannas. Agricultural expansion and intensification were primary drivers of declining fire activity. Fewer and smaller fires reduced aerosol concentrations, modified vegetation structure, and increased the magnitude of the terrestrial carbon sink. Fire models were unable to reproduce the pattern and magnitude of observed declines, suggesting that they may overestimate fire emissions in future projections. Using economic and demographic variables, we developed a conceptual model for predicting fire in human-dominated landscapes.
Fire models apparently as accurate as disease models, which is to say, worthless.
It is interesting that all of the above are exactly the opposite of what the Elite have been telling us, in some cases, for more than 50 years. Gloom and doom hysterical reporting sells eyeballs to advertisers – even when it’s not true. Gloom and doom (fear) is the #1 way to market your ideology and impose your will on everyone else.
