As the Director of WHO states, the NPIs were no longer working to curtail spread.
Reminder: The only way a pandemic ends is through immunity, either via vaccination, via having the disease, or both, and/or the virus mutates to a less virulent form. NPIs can never stop the progression of a highly contagious respiratory virus. I am a brain injured idiot who knows nothing so there’s my disclaimer.
