The consumer price index for February was expected to rise 7.8% over the past year, according to Dow Jones estimates.

They said a year ago that inflation would be temporary and brief. They lied. Inflation was roaring before Putin invaded Ukraine – now they use that as a cover for money printing the last two years. Indeed, some have pointed out that inflationary pressures occurred during the 85% of the month before Russia invaded Ukraine, and well before any sanctions took effect (those took effect in March).
But watch for politicians to use the sanctions – that occurred after this inflation spike – to distract you from the underlying problems. The media will undoubtedly play along with this charade.
