It reinforces that the NSA is intercepting fiber communications within the Internet and has direct access to the server farms of major companies including Microsoft, Google, Facebook and so on: NSA’s Prism surveillance program: how it works and what it can do | World news | guardian.co.uk.

It is not surprising that the NSA can intercept fiber directly (in fact, from what I have heard, they long ago developed non-invasive ways of tapping fiber). The key questions have to do with their collection of data – spying – on U.S. citizens.

And how can both these slides be correct and the denials from these companies be correct? Something is fishy.
