“From 2021 to 2024, Benson Tech underwent a $416 million modernization. During the renovation, Benson Tech classes took place at the campus of the former John Marshall High School in Portland’s Lents neighborhood.[22] The school reopened on August 27, 2024.[23]

Some reports say actual expenditure was $440 million. The project initially was budgeted at $269 million.

The school has between 800 and 900 students, per multiple reports.

The student-teacher ratio of 15:1 is lower than the Oregon state level of 17:1.

I have no idea what a high school remodel should cost but half a billion dollars for an 800-900 person school seems excessive.
