Many people do not believe these reports.

My late father-in-law grew up on a farm in Alberta. Until about 1970, they had indoor cold-water plumbing but not hot water. Water was heated on the stove when hot water was needed. They had a tub for baths, but one had to heat up the hot water on the stove first.

The toilet was an actual outhouse.

By about 1970, the home was eventually upgraded.
