Entirely by design and under control, as old satellites are replaced with new ones: Elon Musk’s Starlink satellites fall to Earth at record pace, scientists raise alarm. This is how it is supposed to work!

But nice click-bait headline you have there …

Update: Musk’s Starlink Satellites Disaster Is Costing Americans Billions – FAA Sounds Alarm

This is nonsense (think about it for a bit)

“Federal regulators are sounding alarms about safety violations while atmospheric scientists warn the unprecedented disposal rate could cost Americans billions annually through climate damage as aluminum emissions alter global temperature patterns and accelerate atmospheric warming.

“Meanwhile, experts report unprecedented Starlink disposal. Harvard astrophysicist Jonathan McDowell notes up to four Starlink sats now reenter per day – a figure projected to rise toward five daily as the constellation expands. “

All modern satellites are designed to de-orbit to prevent forming space debris that can hinder other spacecraft in orbit.

The story originates with a content mill: Home — ZMG | Ruckus Factory Digital Studios

They deny they are a click-bait content mill but that is the nature of their “Branded content” business. The author of the above piece, “Tom Peterson” does not appear to exist elsewhere – only as a byline on the Amaze Labs web site. There are now thousands of “branded content” web services who syndicate their stories on the MSN Start pages, Yahoo news pages and other outlets. There is a ton of poor-quality content flooding the market – some is written by AI, some is ghost written by overseas freelance writers. Gradually, everything online is becoming click-bait, usually “fear-based” content mill slop.
