Another research study was published in August of 2025 finding that meat consumption – or plant-based eating – had no effect on overall mortality. That is, neither had any impact.

Despite dueling expert studies, we should eat plant-based and reduce or discontinue eating meat.

Eating meat is allegedly tied to climate change. Meat itself is not the issue – it’s that ruminant animals stomach’s emit methane gas. Thus, to affect the climate (in theory) we need to kill off a lot of ruminant animals which allegedly affect the climate just by existing. Thus, to save the animals, we need to kill them.

20-30% of meat is consumed by pet dogs and cats. Therefore, we need to ban having pet dogs and cats, which is probably not going to be politically supportable nor sustainable. Yet several climate focused academic groups have said we should ban pet dogs and cats.

A propaganda campaign is underway to discourage the consumption of meat – some say this is prepping the battleground in advance of a study coming out this fall that will be used to force the issue. Some countries in Europe are culling cattle and sheep herds by hundreds of thousands of head – as the EU works to mandate a reduction in meat consumption.

I have a post coming up in mid-October that reviews a peer reviewed study which is the first to study macro nutrient levels of those following the “planetary diet” which is basically a Mediterranean diet. It found that after 12 weeks, several key nutrient levels, especially the vitamin B nutrients, fell sharply (-36% for B-12) – and for many, may be inadequate for health and may substantially increase the risk of heart disease.
