We already mandate Remote ID of all drones – and it seems to have accomplished nothing. Next step is to mandate that hobbyist aircraft be restricted solely to FAA approved RC model airfields – and that off field flying be restricted to licensed Part 107 pilots who will likely be required to file a flight plan in advance and ask permission of the FAA, with real time tracking.
This is all pointless though- homemade RC aircraft have been flown by hobbyists for over 90 years. Persons intent on committing crimes using RC aircraft will just build their own and fly them without RID or authorizations of any kind.
