As I pointed out earlier, I live in a high desert environment – and when it hit 91 degrees F this week, the NWS issued an EXTREME HEAT WARNING. “Extreme heat warnings” are brand new in 2025 and this is now issued for a totally normal summer temperature reading in this area. A couple of days later it hit 98 degrees F – hot but a totally normal hot temperature in the summer here and nowhere close to record breaking.
Meanwhile, in the Netherlands they have a country wide Heat Plan in effect where the highest temperaures in just one part of the country may reach 34 degs C or 93 degrees F.
Today, a National Heat Plan will be in place across the entire country.
With temperatures expected to reach as high as 34 degrees in the south, the RIVM is taking no chances and wants everyone to know that they need to take extra care.
….
Even those of us in the north will feel the heat today, with 29 degrees (C or 84 degrees F) forecast for the region.
And what does this mean for people in the centre and south? Highs of 31 and 34 degrees respectively.
A National Heat Plan is in place across Netherlands on Tuesday
Accuweather shows a high temperature of 84 degrees F (29 degrees C) in Amsterdam today and tomorrow and displays a bright red banner on the page (red, but it’s a yellow warning):

We have either completely lost our minds, or people are so stupid they need a government agency to tell them what to do, or the government agencies have gone into full scale climatecrisis propaganda mode.
Granted, they tend to have higher humidity – and having been in Wisconsin in the summer with temps and humidity both around 90 or worse, I get that. But this is crazy.
