Business Insider, German media empire Axel Springer’s business and tech-focused publication, announced it planned to lay off roughly 21 percent of its staff on Thursday as it goes “all-in” on AI.
The content mill freelance writing gig world is ending – and may be mostly gone within 12-24 months.
I’ve identified perhaps 100 web sites that are already based entirely or almost entirely on the use of AI content generation, syndicating stories to MSN Start pages, news.yahoo.com and many other news aggregation services. The stories cost little to produce and all they need is just a few to end up shared on social media and “go viral” to generate sufficient ad clicks for the business to be profitable.
