We did that in the 1980s too. Simple breakfast at home, rode my bike to the work office, brought my own lunch. And never went to any fancy hair cut places. Apparently this is now considered odd – and in need of a story! Our first home was a fixer upper – previously a trashed rental property owned by 8 out of state real estate investors. Three years of sweat equity later, it was pretty decent. Our first cars were all used, and fixed them myself. I thought this was normal!
Also, met many Gen Z workers on the job a few weeks ago – they were hard working, efficient, effective and had a great attitude, contrary to many news reports. The future is in good hands.
