It’s always been about political power – and the desire for rule by a global technocratic elite.

You can read my thoughts on climate in the right column and the things we did (see Climate: What we are doing to address climate) – from solar PV on the house, to dramatically increasing insulation, driving a solar PV powered EV and adding battery storage. Our household carbon footprint is estimated at 1/10th that of the average American household.
For a long time, we cared and spent about US $64,000 over five years to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
But the actions of many in the climate community – and some bizarre, proposed solutions – have led me to no longer care. I have a 150+ page list of “climate hypocrites” – the well-to-do, jet setters, the youth who’ve traveled the world by age 21, studied abroad, lived abroad – and generally galivant around the world, often by private jet – telling the rest of us to stay home in our 15-minute cities, to stop eating meat, and to ban air travel, and ban pets and dogs (pets consume 20-30% of global meat).
In March of 2025, in the midst of a life-or-death medical emergency, a rock went through the windshield of our Tesla Model 3. We don’t know the source of the rock, but it was suspicious. Cost about US $1,500 to replace the entire windshield – and we didn’t drive the Model 3 for almost 2 months because of left wing activists vandalizing individually owned Teslas because they didn’t like Musk’s political activities with Trump and DOGE.
We went from mandating everyone buy EVs in the near future, to trashing personally owned EVs. Climate activism had nothing to do with the climate and everything to do with political power and an eventual rule by a technocratic elite.
At that moment, I lost interest. At this point, we continue to seek efficiency in our life and energy usage, but climate is no longer a factor in any decision we are making moving forward.
Anarchy, Violence and the End of Democracy

It’s about a tiny minority that force their will on everyone else – because they and they alone have the right solutions:
“We vow to wage a campaign of sabotage targeting the tools, property and machinery of those most responsible for global warming, escalating until they accept our demands for an end to all support for fossil fuel expansion.”
Their goal is to end democracy (Extinction Rebellion has said this). Rather than use facts and logic and well constructed arguments, they intend to use violence and force so that a tiny irrelevant group of loud mouths will be in charge.
Climate Activists Are Setting Fire to EVs
Climate activists are trashing privately owned Tesla vehicles – bought before Elon Musk was involved with politics and harming people who have no influence over Musk or anyone else. Effectively, the people who centered their lives on climate action are destroying EVs and discouraging purchasing and using the most popular, best selling EVs in the world. Because apparently, they never gave a fuck about climate change – it was always about politics and global authoritarianism to them. Climate theories were just a means to their desired end point – rule by technocratic elite and the end of democracy.
The violent left is so stupid they are even trashing non-Tesas – here’s a PoleStar that was vandalized in Switzerland. I also saw a video clip of a left wing moron damaging a Rivian.

Sell Your Tesla
Sell your Tesla at a loss, to someone else who will then drive the vehicle – because that makes a statement that you’ve got more money than most people! He is a U.S. Senator from Arizona. Saving the planet is so last year. His vehicle choice, he openly admits, is for virtue signalling – when saving the climate was hip and Tesla was cool, he was all in – today, he hates Musk so he needs to signal that his hatred is bigger. Does Astronaut Kelly want NASA to ban using SpaceX Dragon to access the ISS (there are no other alternatives…)?
According to Bloomberg, Kelly has replaced his EV by buying a gas powered Chevrolet Tahoe SUV getting an EPA 17 mpg…
Climate Influencer Hypocrisy
I have a 150 page list of climate hypocrites (see Part 1: Climate Hypocrites) – loud mouthed climate influencers who demand climate mandates for everyone else – but not themselves as they jet about the world, living lives with carbon footprints the size of small countries. They are more important than the rest of us peons.
Non-Supportable “Solutions”
I compiled a list of solutions proposed by “experts” (see Climate: What Experts Say We Must Do) – which include proposals to ban all meat consumption, ban all pet dogs and cats (they consume 20-30% of the meat supply) and ban all air travel – some propose banning all travel outside our local community (aka “climate lock downs”), and ration all food and resources. Some propose banning all holidays including Christmas and all future family get togethers. These people are insane.
Solutions need to sustainable and supportable – and these are not – except to totalitarian dictators.
Rule by Technocratic Elite
Their goal is rule by a technocratic elite or “experts” and the end of democracy (some advocates says climate is so important we must end democracy, censor dissenting views, and jail those who disagree)- which has nothing to do with climate but is a pitch for global communism and authoritarianism (see Climate: We must revert to a degrowth, socialist utopia and Climate: The only solution is global communism and rule by technocratic elite).
Propaganda All The Way Down
Rather than argue points with facts and logic, many proponents use lies, fear and hysteria – the tools of the propagandist. They propose non-sustainable, politically unsupportable “solutions” that are unworkable and will cause mass harm.
The bullshit is turning off a great many of us to the point we no longer care.
I No Longer Care
Based on the behavior of elite climate enthusiasts, I no longer care. See links in the right column for more. While I like having no electric bill, I’m unsure any of this makes sense anymore. In looking at the proponents of climate fear – and their questionable actions and often outright nonsense – I have lost confidence in the movement.
I have assumed humans are a factor in climate change and as described on this blog, have done a lot to reduce our carbon emissions (re-insulated our home to R60+, home now 100% powered by solar PV, drive an EV, air dry laundry, LED lighting throughout, compost on site, my multi-year vegetarian spree that ended in a health disaster, and so on) to just 1/10th that of a typical American home.
But after watching climate hypocrites (see 150-page list) demonstrate they care far more about their eliteness than climate, I came to no longer care. Because none of them give a damn – it’s all about exerting political power and has very little to do with climate.
After collecting a list of proposed solutions – and watching the ideas become wacky and nonsensical – I realized these folkx apparently have no workable solutions (see my list, linked above). Or there goals have nothing to do with the climate.
At this point, I have no idea what is correct or wrong (particularly after post Covid’s loss of trust in science itself) nor whether human effects even matter to the climate.
The primary issue is disgust at the hypocrisy and nonsensical solutions indicating these folkx do not care to find realistic solutions – because, again, that has never been their goal.
I no longer care to expend emotional energy or money on what has descended into climate nonsense. I will personally continue to seek efficiencies in my life but I am no longer paying much attention to the climate noise – which is what it has all become.
Out on a walk today, I thought back over past decades and the scary things that rose to prominence over the years – fears promoted by media and activist doomers – which turned out to be wrong. You reach a point where you realize everything you thought you knew is wrong, and you’ve been lied to repeatedly by experts, who were often shills using fear to promote their hidden agendas.
There are a lot of journalists and activists (often the same people) who need to read the story of Never Cry Wolf. When you watch the media over time, you see the same stories brought to scary prominence, year after year after year – and none of their scary forecasts turn out to be true. They’ve cried Wolf far too many times at this point.
