Ph.D. in math from UC Berkeley, founder of Treyarch Corporation which was sold to Activision, and later CEO of SkyDance – Peter Akemann flew his drone 1.5 miles away, well beyond the legal line of sight: Drone crash at Palisades Fire blamed on tech exec with Berkeley Ph.D.
A fire fighting aircraft, flying over the fire zone, collided with Akemann’s drone, punching a whole in the front of the firefighting aircraft’s wing, grounding the aircraft until repairs could be completed.
Proof that having a UC Berkeley Ph.D. does not mean you have common sense, or the brains to be familiar with FAA rules and regulations.
