Note that since 2022 – jobs filled by U.S. native born workers is roughly a flat line while jobs filled by immigrants continues to grow. This suggests that new jobs (numerically speaking) are being filled by immigrants. This could be because, in part, the U.S.’s low fertility rate is at the point where it is impacting particularly new workers in the young cohort just now entering the labor market. With fewer new, young workers, employers might be turning to immigrants.
