Education demographics: College enrollment in 2024

Down -5% from 2023 to 2024: Fewer 18-year-olds enrolled in college this fall

White 18-year-old enrollment dropped 10 percent between fall 2023 and 2024, compared to 8.4 percent for multiracial students, 8.2 percent for Black students, 5.7 percent for Asian students and 2.1 percent for Hispanic students.

UPDATE: They say this miscounted the data and there was not a -5% decline: College freshman enrollment is up, not down. Error led to undercount. | The Seattle Times
