Seeing lots of posts on X pushing the “We are all going to die this winter” from Covid, RSV, flu or sometimes norovirus (hence, the “quad” demic claim).

Hospitalizations are used for the first two charts as little testing for “cases” is still done. Hospitalizations also captures an indication of the severity of disease. Covid cases are no longer nearly as severe as in the past – likely due to widespread immunity, both from vaccination and also having the disease. (Multiple times vaccinated, I have had Covid twice, including in August 2024 – meaning I have recent antibodies.)
