If you read email using a browser to log into your email account, your browser leaves a “cookie” file (typically) so that you do not have to go through the login process each time you access your email.

This creates a security vulnerability. Malware can then be used to steal that cookie file and use it to access your email account.

For this reason, I use the browser plug in “Cookie Autodelete” to delete ALL cookie files within about 15 seconds of leaving a site. I do not leave authentication cookie files on my computer.

Also, if I close the browser, all cookies and history are deleted automatically.
