A study of 12-year trends reveals that enrollment headcounts in elementary grades have generally decreased. Meanwhile, student headcounts in secondary grades have risen.
That would be consistent with the decline in fertility rate – where Utah, with a large LDS population, has lagged most other areas in the fertility rate decline. Whereas the country is seeing the decline in the cohort starting college now, Utah isn’t there yet.
