Many killed, up to thousands injured in the attack, alleged to have been done by Israeli intelligence, somehow infiltrating pager and two-way radio manufacturing that may have occurred about 5 months ago.
According to its website, ICOM is a Japan-based radio communications and telephone company.
The company has said that production of several models of the ICOM hand-held radio have been discontinued, including the IC-V82, which appeared to closely match those in images from Lebanon on Wednesday and which was phased out in 2014.
This is bad – ICOM is a well-known, highly reputable communications company. I have two ICOM radios on my desktop, as I write this, and several more in drawers.
Here in the West, portable electronics will now come under suspicion.
