(My youngest daughter was, for six months, a few years ago, responsible for the official weather station at the DV Visitors Center. She is a geologist/geochemist/hydrologist (also a microbiologist and data analyst). The popular outdoor thermometer, at which the media and Instagrammers take their photos – is not considered accurate and tends to average about 5 degrees hotter than the official temperature readings.)
