I just saw one of those meme content mill stories about how “generation XYZ” had it better than “generation ABC”. These are fluffy content mill click bait stories meant to be divisive and get you riled up.

One of their comments was about the costs of college today versus sometime in the past. Left out of the story was that twice as many people have completed a 4-year degree than just 30 years ago and 4 times more than 60 years ago. Left out is the surprising finding that up to about 1970, half of all adults had not completed high school (going back to those born early in the 20th century or late 19th century, many did not complete high school – my grandfather had not, for example.)
