(This was originally written in January 2013 but I never published it. I presented my thesis in December of 2012, but the final paperwork was not issued until January 2013 due to the Christmas holiday period.)

Today I presented my M.S. in software engineering thesis, “Development and evaluation of application level power monitoring methods in the Android phone“, completing the requirements for this degree. Overall GPA was 4.0.

This is my second Masters degree, the first one being an M.B.A., which I did at age 41.

The M.B.A. program, like many M.B.A. programs, was a non-thesis graduate degree. I always wanted to do a research project and a thesis and have now done that through the M.S. degree program. This took me a year longer than expected due to time needed to assist my elderly mother as her health declined; she passed away at age 93 last August.
