Starbucks reported terrible results – and their stock share price collapsed. Are consumers buying less coffee? Has the espresso and fancy coffee drinks market run its course?

Apparently not: Dutch Bros stock climbs on earnings as coffee chain dodges Starbucks’ selloff – MarketWatch

Named in honor of their Dutch grandparents, Dutch Bros coffee was started in Grants Pass, Oregon and has been expanding for years. Oddly enough, the first time I stopped at Dutch Bros. coffee was in Grants Pass! (I live in Oregon). More of the company’s history here: Dutch Bros. Coffee – Wikipedia

Update: I visited a Starbucks today. They said they no longer make decaf lattes and almost never get any shipments of the Sumatra decaf beans. The only decaf they could make, they said, is decaf Pike Place Roast and decaf pour over of the same ground beans. Decaf basically no longer exists at Starbucks. That sort of ends my interest in visiting Starbucks – I switched to mostly decaf coffee in early 2023 and prefer to drink decaf most of the time. Starbucks is the only coffee shop in my town open after 2-4 pm (all others closed from 2 to 4 pm).
