Having just gone through 2 weeks of snow, freezing rain, ice pellets – and temperatures plus or minus 0 degrees F (a low of -7 and negative lows for many days in a row, with highs in the low single digits), I thought it would be interesting to look at what the Experts said our January was going to be like.

They said our temperatures would be well above normal. By next week, we may finally be a little above normal.

But – they said the first few weeks would be well above normal – that was 180 degrees wrong!

All three months will feature a much above average start to the year in the Northwest. This is something that NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center agrees with.

We still have February and March to look forward to, of course.
