Recently, there have been media story tellers and “thought leaders” telling us that EVs do not work, won’t save us, and there is not enough materials to produce all the batteries that are needed.
They always assume that Lithium-ion is the only solution available now and in the future, even though there are already many battery technologies in use across applications. Li-Ion has been popular because of high energy density and light weight – perfect for portable and mobile applications where weight is critical.
For grid-scale or residential batteries, Li-Ion is hardly the only technology.
Plus, new technologies are being developed and will likely soon be on the market for applications where the new tech is best.
